We moved to Westbrook in August of 2004. At that time we had no idea what ward we lived in, or who our city councilor was. Soon we became involved in the democratic process here, when the Saunders property adjacent to our home became the prospective site of a Wal-Mart supercenter. It has been very interesting to see how the Planning Board and the City Council do their work. One thing that became apparent to us, early on, was that we have a very fine city councilor in Ward 1. Brendan Reilly is intelligent, responsible, and fair-minded. He is respectful and appreciative of all citizens who participate, in public hearings and meetings, no matter what they have to say. We are fortunate to have someone so qualified to represent us on the City Council, and would encourage everyone in Ward 1 to vote for him in November.
