Meeting

The Rebekah Lodge #71 will meet November 2 for a special night. It will be “Brothers Night,” and they are inviting all brothers and the brothers of Lake Shores Lodge #5. Everyone will bing something for refreshments.

Veterans

On Wednesday, October 26, Robin Shepard will be at the Windham Veterans Center from 9 to 11 a.m. to assist veterans in applying for benefits. This is a free service and no appointments are necessary.

Anniversary

Carroll and Marjorie McDonald celerated their 62nd wedding anniversary on Oct. 15. They went out and enjoyed a nice dinner.

Trip

Mary and Bob Bouchard, Sheila Cunningham and Dick Rolfe recently spent a few days away. They all went to Foxwoods for some rest and relaxation. A good time was had by all.

Birthday

Suki Brown celebrated her birthday Oct. 10. She enjoyed dinner with her family at Thatchers Restaurant.

Bethlehem Marketplace

Go and prepare for the holidays in an old world and festive setting for crafts and many special treasures. Under the supervision of church member Shirley Jewett, the congregation of the North Windham Union Church has been working for months to create a fair that will offer the community a fantastic array of creative, handmade items to be sold. Also look for a shopping room just for the kids or enjoy a bowl of homemade chowder and lobster roll at the lunch counter. Entry to the marketplace is free and will take place on Saturday, Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.on the Parish Hall of the church. For more information call 892-6142.

Visit Son

Don and Camille Swander returned home Oct. 16 after spending the weekend at Endicott College in Massachusetts at parents weekend. Their youngest son, Greg, is a freshman there and plays on the soccer team. Endicott won their game Saturday night 7-0. Sunday was Greg’s birthday so his siblings and significant others (including his baby niece, Elisabeth) from Maine arrived there in time for all of them to attend a birthday celebration at a local restaurant in Salem, Massachusetts.

Birthday

Margaret Stimpson celebrated her 104th birthday October 17. She now resides at the Country Village Assisted Living in Casco. Her favorite food is Kentucky Fried Chicken and everyone there had it for lunch in honor of her birthday.
