The Maine Children’s Cancer Program will be holding a barbecue at Shaw’s in Westbrook to raise money from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24.

Associates and Volunteers will be doing face painting for the kids, playing games and giving away prizes and pie pumkins. Cotton candy and popcorn will be served.

Sportsmans True Value of Westbrook donated rentals to help raise money for the cancer program.

The Maine Children’s Cancer Program strives not only to cure cancer in as many children as possible, but also to support families throughout their experience of living with childhood cancer. Over 800 children with cancer have become part of program. The program has grown from a small clinic that diagnosed and treated 25 to 30 new patients a year to a bona fide Pediatric Oncology Center that diagnoses, comprehensively manages, and treats between 55 and 65 new patients annually.
