Girls Soccer
Coach: Greg Damon (8th year)
Fall 2004 record: 11-4
How did last season end: Lost in quarterfinals
Key veterans: Kristen Kill, Elise D’Amboise, Jamie Harmon, Anna Gregor, Christina Aceto, Jackie Rice and Jordan Blondan
Key concern: Depth.
Coach’s outlook: There are a lot of quality teams and the playoffs should be wide open. We should be one of several teams who have a chance.
Boys Soccer
Coach: Mark O’Connor (1st year)
Fall 2004 record: One win.
Key veterans: Mark Hurley, Andrew Ochsner and Jason Battle
Key newcomers: Endy Carera, Will Furbush, DJ St. Cyr and Bryce McOsker
Key concern: Trying to win games, as the team hasn’t won many in recent seasons.
Coach’s outlook: We’re off to a good start, having won two games already. We’ve got a little confidence, and we’re coming together as a team.
Girls Cross Country
Coach: Karen Reardon (3rd year)
Fall 2004 record: 9-6 in the league
How did last season end: Placed 6th in the Western regional championship and qualified for the state meet, finished 13th
Key veterans: Senior captain. Emily Haeuser, sophomores Kendall Morong, Lindsay Boyle and Meagan Knowland
Key newcomers: Junior captain Lindsay Soule, junior Brianna Jaro, sophomore Molly O’Brion and freshman Kirsten Bakke
Key concern: Still want more numbers on the team, but that seems to be a work in progress.
Coach’s outlook: Cross country is all about team, and we have a group that can run together. When they are all ready to go, I think that we are going to surprise a few people. It is so nice to see a pack of red shirts out on the course together.
Boys Cross Country
Coach: Paul Brogan (37th year)
Fall 2004 record: 10-4
How did last season end: Finished 9th in regionals. Just missed qualifying for states.
Key veterans: Michael Welch and David Knowland
Key newcomers: Tom Biskup, Brian Huynh, Tom Gott, Matt Bremermann and Nick Gray
Key concern: It’s a young team, and they’ll need support from the two senior captains. That will enhance their progress.
Coach’s outlook: The team shows promise, and we should continue to develop.
Football
Coach: Steve Stinson (1st year)
Fall 2004 record: 3-5
Key veterans: Inbo Pak, sr. RB/DB; Zack Theriault, sr RB/LB; Bryan Conley, sr. QB/DB; Billy Martin, sr. OL/DL; Nick Dunlap, sr. OL/DL; Anthony Bruneau, sr. OL/DL; Walter Michaud, sr. WR/DB
Key newcomers: James Boudreau, Nick Gadder and Alex LeBlanc
Key concern: Experience, and how that experience correlates into confidence. We had to replace 18 of 22 starters. No one on the team had ever scored a varsity touchdown.
Coach’s outlook: We’re looking to be a team that improves through work and repetition in the weight room, the film room and on the practice field. We want to be a team that shows improvement from week to week.
Field Hockey
Coach: Maureen Curran (5th year)
Fall 2004 record: 7-8
How did last season end: Lost in preliminary round to Scarborough
Key veterans: Kelsey Shea-Breton (Attack), Emily McKinnon (Midfield), Kristina Aceto (Midfield), Angela Giordano (Defense), Chelsea Pettengill (GK)
Key concern: Consistency. We had some great moments last season, but need to play that way more consistently in order to make a strong run this year.
Coach’s outlook: We have a strong core of returning varsity players, so we are hoping to build on the experiences we gained last year.
Golf
Coach: Ernie Lamson (23rd year)
Fall 2004 record: Over .500
Key veterans: Justin Maietta, Kevin Tait and Evan Griffith
Key concern: Consistent play.
Coach’s outlook: At this point we just have to get consistent and try to get back in the fight.
