Scarborough Summerfest 5K-1 mile Race
The Scarborough Summerfest 5K and 1-mile races will be held Friday, August 19 at the Scarborough High School athletic complex. This will be the third year the race has been held.
A one mile race (13 & under) will be held at 6 pm with the 5K race going off at 6:30 pm. The races are sponsored by the Scarborough Track and Cross Country Boosters. Registration fees are $10 for the one-mile race and $15 for the 5K race. Register before Friday, August 19, and receive a t-shirt. Registration the day of the race will begin at 4 pm at the tent near the tennis courts. The one-mile race and the 5K race are wheeled measured.
In the kids race, everyone that finishes will receive a medal and the first boy and girl will receive a plaque.
In the 5K race the top overall male and female will be awarded a plaque. All runners finishing the race will have their names put into a drawing for many other awards. The race is sanctioned by Maine USATF and race results will be posted on the meusatf.org web site.

SMCC Athletics Fund-Raising Golf Tournament
There still some openings for the SMCC Athletics Fund-Raising Golf Tournament set for August 23 at 1 p.m. at Spring Meadows Golf Course in Gray. This is a shotgun start, four-person team scramble format.
The cost of the tournament is $80 per person, which includes greens fee, cart and BBQ dinner after the event. There will also be a raffle of some outstanding prizes.

Public Skating at Family Ice Center
Dig out those ice skates from the cellar and come cool off Saturday night!
