The Salvation Army’s River of Life on Bridge Street will be opening a soup kitchen in Westbrook sometime later this month.

Capt. Frank Nataluk, who along with his wife, Capt. Melissa Nataluk, runs the River of Life, said the soup kitchen would serve its first meal on Aug. 29 from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

Nataluk said the soup kitchen would initially be open on the last Monday of each month, serving full meals. He said on the weeks that the soup kitchen is not open, the River of Life would be serving coffee and pastries on Mondays from 5 to 6:30 p.m. to anyone who wishes to drop by.
