The Maine Department of Transportation will begin repair work on Route 114 and Route 1 on Friday morning.
The project will entail some minor ditch work, heavy resurfacing of the road and shoulder repair on Route 114. It will begin at the Route 1-Route 114 intersection and progress down Route 114 to Maple Avenue.
Another project in the works is a resurfacing project on Route 1 from about Maine Medical Center area to the South Portland line. This work will be less extensive than the work being done on Route 114.
Friday morning workers will begin grinding a small area at the Route 1-Route 114 intersection and an area in the Maine Med area, which will serve as starting points for the project.
The project is scheduled to be completed by early November, but project leaders hope to have it done by mid October.
