In response to Margie Petrone’s letter saying that the Buxton Dorcas Society calendar and the women who posed for it were immoral – Margie, did you actually see the calendar? I did, and it is beautiful, not the least bit disgraceful and very tastefully done.
God did help these women. He gave them their bodies. He also gave them their courage, their senses of humor, their hearts big enough to want to help the less fortunate and the brains to know that sometimes you can raise more money by selling a little “cheesecake” in a calendar than you can by selling another cookbook with a cheesecake recipe inside.
I met and talked to a few of the “Calendar Girls” at Buxton Community Days. They are some of the most secure, happy and BRAVEST women that I have ever met! Bravo, Ladies! My shirts off to you!
