For those who want to try their luck on the lake, the Second Annual All-Boats Poker Run will take place from noon to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 23.

The Poker Run, sponsored by the Windham Rotary Club, will kick off at noon with performance boats leading a parade out of Jordan Bay. The high-speed boats will then join the other competitors in the Poker Run around Sebago Lake in search of “card boats” where they will be able to pick one card for their poker hand. Posted clues along the shore will indicate where these “card boats” are located throughout the lake. During the awards party after the run, the six competitors who hold the best hands collected from the run will sit down to five rounds of straight poker to narrow down the winner.

Team Paki Too, a pontoon boat captained by Patty Adams and crew members Katherine Moulton and Krista Adams, won the competition last year with a poker hand of three 9s.

Over $5,000 in cash and merchandise prizes will be awarded at the Poker Party with $500 going to the winner of the Poker Run.

Registrations for the Poker Run will be held Friday, July 22 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Panther Run Marina in Raymond and Saturday, July 23 behind Shaw’s Supermarket on Manchester Drive from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. The base fee is $50 per boat.

Event proceeds will go to benefit local charities, not-for-profit organizations, the Windham Rotary Permanent Fund for college scholarships and the Rotary Foundation.
