The Raymond Lions Club held its 10th annual golf scramble on a cloudy, somewhat wet, Saturday, June 18. Golfer participation was down due to an extended youth baseball season caused by the wet spring, but financial results were excellent.

The club had great support from local businesses and individuals who sponsored holes. The barbequing group at Kokatosi Campground and the Fairlawn Country Club on Empire Road in Poland were both wonderful in accommodating a smaller turnout than originally anticipated. Of course, we could not have this fund-raising event without the golfers whom we always appreciate.

Although no one had a hole-in-one on the 13th hole, which would have won them a 2005 Chevy Malibu donated by Sebago Lake Chevrolet, there were several prizes plus door prizes given out.

Pictured is the winning team (missing one member) from Community Pharmacy receiving the permanent rotating trophy from club president Yvette Ward. Those on the team were Ed Piiraninen, Joe Bruno, Dana Rydberg and Joe Pietroski.

We are now planning for our 11th year event to be tentatively on June 10, 2006. Mark that date on your calendars now.
