Don’t forget to visit the Windham Public Library between now and June 30 to see Joy Barnes’ watercolor and oil paintings on display there. The subjects in this exhibit include Maine lighthouses, scenic views of Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park along with paintings of Maine’s hydrangeas.

Reunion

David and Joan Tobin and Colleen and Leo Tinkham have returned home after spending a week in British Columbia. They visited David’s sister, Shirley Johnston. Joan celebrated her 70th birthday May 2 and then again with her sister-in-law. Shirley’s birthday was May 17.

The new officers of the Windham Alumni Association are President Carol Waig, Vice President Sue Nichols and Secretary-Treasurer Tammy Haskell.

Meeting

There will be a meeting of the Windham Historical Society May 23 at 7 p.m. The program will be cemetery history presented by Kathy Corbett of the North Gorham Cementery Association. Learn how public cemeteries replaced the family/farm lots c. 1850.

Back Home

Lloyd Bennett has returned home after spending two weeks in Florida. He attended the college graduation of his daughter, Aimee. She graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a major in Communications and a minor in Sociology. She is going to Taipei, Taiwan to teach English as a second language at the University of Taipei for 8 weeks. Her brother, Nathaniel, lives there.

All voting, District 110 and District 111, on June 14 will take place in the auxillary gym at Windham High School. The polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. Absentee ballots are also available now in the Town Clerk’s Office. The Town Meeting will be June 18 in the auditorium of the high school at 10 a.m.
