The Southern Maine Agency on Aging is presenting the 27th annual Elders’ Day at the Portland Expo on Tuesday, May 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Elders’ Day is a senior lifestyle exposition that is the largest event of its kind for seniors in Southern Maine.
More than 70 organizations are expected to exhibit, ranging from health and medical services, to assisted living facilities, financial advisors, travel experts, physical therapists and even Foxwoods Casino. There will be entertainment from the Port City Jazz Band and the Al Doane Quartet as well as humorous vignettes of elder life as presented by the “Senior Moments” theater group. There will also be exercise demonstrations, health and wellness screenings, therapeutic and chiropractic massage, along with dancing, prizes and raffles.
There is plenty of free parking available around the Expo. Many senior living facilities along with a number of towns and municipalities will also be providing transportation to the event.
Elders’ Day is sponsored by Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution. Exhibiting Partners include Aging Excellence and Peoples Heritage Bank, each of whom will be present at the event.
The Southern Maine Agency on Aging presents Elders’ Day each year as part of its commitment to seniors and their families to offer them the most comprehensive information, education, guidance, advocacy and care available in the region.
The Agency on Aging has provided continuous service and advocacy on behalf of seniors and their families in southern Maine since 1972.
