Windham’s Walk for Habitat for Humanity is set for Saturday, April 9 starting at the Windham Public Library at 9 a.m. Registration will be held at the library starting at 8:30 a.m.
The walk is approximately five miles long and participants are encouraged to walk with family, friends, church or civic groups. People are encouraged to register the day of the event and can donate any amount of money they want. The walk raises money for new building projects for Habitat for Humanity. Those who raise $200 or more will receive a free Habitat for Humanity hat or T-shirt.
“Hopefully the weather will be bright and seasonable,” said Walk organizer Terri Moore. “We walk in rain, sleet, snow, and sun. It serves as a reminder that good affordable housing providing warmth and shelter is greatly needed as Maine weather is always changing!”
