The Maine Community Foundation has scholarships available for high school students interested in attending college and graduate school.

Stephanie Bernath Memorial Scholarship Fund: This fund provides scholarships to graduating female seniors of Scarborough High School in memory of Stephanie Bernath, an alumna who died in a tragic car accident in 1999.
Applicants must have a grade point average of at least 84 out of 100; demonstrated athletic ability or passion for a non-competitive sport, such as mountain climbing or horseback riding; and a demonstrated interest in community service.

Billy Brown Scholarship Fund: The family and friends of Billy Brown established the Billy Brown Scholarship Fund in 1999. The fund provides post-secondary scholarship assistance to those seeking to ultimately coach or teach sports in an academic setting.
Selection will be based on scholastic talent with preference given to demonstrated dedication to coaching or teaching sports. Applicants should have attended Portland, Deering, Catherine McAuley, Cheverus, Waynflete, South Portland, Cape Elizabeth, Scarborough or Yarmouth high schools.

Kenneth Jordan Higgins Scholarship Fund: The Higgins Scholarship Fund provides scholarship support to graduates of Cape Elizabeth High School who are pursuing post-secondary education at a college, university or community college.

Chet Jordan Leadership Award Fund: This scholarship was established in 1995 in memory of Chet Jordan, a Portland based businessman who exhibited a deep sense of civic responsibility in his community and his home state of Maine. Mr. Jordan grew up in Portland and spent his leisure time in Patten and Aroostook County, hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling.
The family and friends of Chet Jordan established this scholarship in 1995 to celebrate the rich legacy of his leadership in business and civic affairs in his beloved state of Maine. Chet found opportunity in adversity. He was a visionary thinker who respected diverse opinions. He was actively involved with his family, friends, employees and community and delighted in their successes. The Chet Jordan Leadership Award is presented to students who are emerging leaders in their community and school.
Eligible applicants are graduating seniors at the following high schools: Augusta, Bangor, Brewer, Cape Elizabeth, Cumberland, Deering, Falmouth, Gorham, Katahdin, Portland, Scarborough, South Portland, Yarmouth, and all high schools in Aroostook County who are leaders despite hardship, adversity or disability. Academic excellence is not a prerequisite, but demonstrated compassion, dependability and hard work are.

Reynolds E. Moulton Family Student Athlete Achievement Award: This fund was established in 2000 by Reynolds E. Moulton Jr. The fund provides scholarship assistance to a graduating senior of Cape Elizabeth High School who plans to attend a four-year college or university and has demonstrated outstanding athletic and academic ability, including above-average academic performance.
